Canon MP287 Entering Service Mode Problem

Canon MP287 errors E08 – ink absorber full, I try to reset the ink counter of this printer but field to enter to Service Mode. 

Procedures how to enter to Service Mode:

·  Turn on the printer.

·  The panel will display error E08, with message “The Ink Absorber is Almost Full”. 

·  Turn off the E08 error by pressing the power button. 

·   Do not unplug the power cord. 

·    Press and Hold the button Stop/Reset followed by pressing the Power button. 

·    Release the button Stop/Reset only.

·     Press the button Stop/Reset 6 times, then release both buttons simultaneously.

After you follow this steps how to enter to service mode only alarm light is turn on. 

Solution to this Problem:

Steps 1:  You need a damage motherboard of Canon Mp287 but make sure the eeProm I.C. is not damage attach picture below.

Steps 2: You need materials to remove eeProm I.C. (Hot Air Gun, Flux, Soldering Iron, Soldering lead, tweezer).

Steps 3: Remove the eeProm I.C. form old motherboard using Hot Air Gun place it in a safe place.

Steps 4: Remove the corrupted eeProm I.C. to motherboard using Hot Air Gun and throw in the trashcan.

Steps 5: Place the good eeProm to motherboard and solder using soldering iron or Hot Air Gun. See picture below.

 Steps 6: After finish replacing eeProm to motherboard clean the surface of solder parts. Install the motherboard back to printer turn on the printer. And check if you encountered ink absorber full. And try to enter to service mode and  run resetter canon service tool v3400 and reset the printer.
